I am a media psychologist and assistant professor in the Division of Emerging Media Studies within the College of Communication at Boston University. I conduct research and teach courses on the intersection of user psychology and media technology, including aspects of human motivation, technological affordances, and the cognitive & emotional processing and effects of media use. In turn, I am interested in how this understanding can be applied to the design of user experiences, including interfaces, game design, and behavior change interventions.
